WELCOME

Hi guys!

Welcome back to school!  It's good to see you and have you one more time in my class.

Here is the program for the course.  We will work with the blog comments, google docs and class in this new semester.

Please write a comment on today's class (the board).

Thank you,

Ms. Vicky Treviño

Before the board's invention, the teachers and students had quite a hard time during class. The teachers passed with each students to illustrate or explain.
We all know the board is the essential tool for teachers, but its management is also very important.
As teachers, we need to have an order (H) to prevent students' missunderstanding. If you are writing or drawing in the board, is better if you turn around constantly or write in a way you can see your students. Another error teachers do is to talk to the board, this enables students to hear and therefore understand.

The board is known for being the most notable and useful aid while giving a class.
Over the years, it has evolved from black to green, from green to white, from the use of chalk to the use of markers.
You must have a nice and clear writing for students to read the board. Use appropriate colors, write with a big letter.
Try to don’t give your back to your students while you’re writing. It’s pretty difficult. I know.

Last class we saw the importance of giving a class, like position, while you are writing, the model H, and not everybody can write and speak in front at the class, why? Let me tell you why...
You are writing on the blackboard, but also you have tho check all the students faces, cause is very important interact with them while "you are teaching" is like a connection between student and teacher to know them very well.
We've seen the blackboard trough the history since It was just a part of the wall.

In our previous class we were taught how to use correctly the blackboard, we learned how are we supposed to give our class always keeping eye contact with our students, we also learned how to use the blackboard more efficiently and the origins and history of the blackboard. I think it is really important to know the origins of our materials so we can truly comprehend the importance of having them in our classroom.
